King Saud University Making Shanghai Ranking Unprecedented Achievement, Minister Says

(Crealis) -- Saudi Arabia's King Saud University placed in in the top 500 universities in the world, according to the latest Shanghai ranking.

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammad Al-Angari announced the admittance of of King Saud University, "as the first Saudi University Arabia within the Shanghai ranking, which is considered the finest and most difficult ranking."

King Saud University was the only Arab university to be ranked in the top 500.

"This achievement is unprecedented for Saudi universities, and records a global presence to the system of higher education and scientific research," according to the Ministry.

"On the occasion of this global national achievement of King Saud University, His Excellency Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khaled Al-angari raised to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the Deputy Premier II - cited by God – the great thanks and gratitude for their unlimited and continued support of educational institutions, stressing that this historic achievement of King Saud University at Shanghai ranking is recorded for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the international scientific and research forums," the Ministry said in a statement, adding that "This global leading position of King Saud University among the world's leading universities, is a true indication of the government’s support that the higher education in the kingdom is receiving and consecrate the concepts of quality in the performance of this vital sector and its outputs."
